My client had a vision to do her family photos at the OC Fair over the summer. I was absolutely in LOVE with the idea and couldn’t wait to take the photos. We got there first thing when it opened to avoid crowds and having to see lots of people in the background. She wanted colorful and fun and I think we hit the nail on the head! I may have to do some sessions there next year!
     In case you missed my Facebook and Instagram posts about JJ’s cake smash, here is your chance to see some of the cutest photos, ever!! I am finally getting around to blogging about my newborn session with the El Moussa family! Many of you probably recognize Christina and Tarek El Moussa as the hosts for the super fun and popular HGTV show, Flip or Flop – I am a HUGE fan! When Christina contacted me to do the session I was SOOO excited, but also nervous! I had previously worked with them on some marketing photos for their website some months back, but taking newborn photos at their awesome home was truly an amazing experience! Beyond doing the photos, there was also a cameraman from the Flip or Flop show there taping me do the session. Can you say nerve-racking! You’ll see a behind the scenes shot below. Thank goodness I put some make-up on that day! Whatsmore, about a week after taking the photos, Christina contacted me to see if People.com could publish one of my photos. EEEKKK! Hello, YES!! They ended up posting two of my favorites from the session! The link to view the article is posted at the top of my home page on this website. I would also like to publicly thank Jessica McKimmey from Jessica McKimmey photography for assisting me during the session. She was so great! She also gets the photo credit for the behind the scenes photos. Lastly, I have to mention how great this family was to work with. I only briefly worked with Tarek, but I spent more time with Christina – talking before the session, during, and meeting a second time to order her prints and canvases. She is SO sweet, gracious, beautiful and down to earth! And little Taylor is already a pro in front of the camera, and so gorgeous! Check out some of the lovely photos from their session below!
I first met Evelyn and her mommy and daddy at her newborn session a year ago. And it was such a special surprise when her mom contacted me to do her one year old cake smash session. She, and her outfits are adorbs!
Baby Braxton hardly made a peep throughout his session. It was such a peaceful and enjoyable time for me, and his mom and dad. And he is seriously adorable! I just LOVE my job!
Catching up on some long over due blog posts. This family was an absolute dream to work with! The little boy was amazing for me throughout the session. He was so good, I think we wrapped the shoot within 25 minutes. And you cannot beat the beautiful beach back drop. I had the pleasure of photographing Stefanie’s baby shower a couple of weeks ago! Check out how cute all the decorating details are in the photos below. Her family and friend did an amazing job and how awesome is her back yard?! Next up for Stefanie is a maternity session with her hubs and then I get to snuggle her little boy during a newborn session – my fav!
Wow! I am really becoming fond of doing family sessions in an urban setting. And working with a family like this makes it even more awesome. So sweet and gorgeous to photograph. Whatsmore, we had some amazing light that night. And to make it even better…we finished shooting in under an hour…whoo hoo! I may have gotten a little carried away with the number of images on this blog post…but I couldn’t help it. Thank you Ellis family – I hope we can work together again in the future! XO,

I am a big fan of this show. I watch the new episodes and reruns all the time. They are a beautiful family and I wish them continued success. Taylor looks just like her dad with her mom’s coloring and the new baby is gorgeous. Melissa you did an absolutely great job with all the photos.
